Traumatic orofacial injuries can occur as a result of  assaults, motor vehicle accidents, work injuries, and sporting injuries to name a few.

Traumatic injuries are a real risk factor during sport.  The biologic and financial costs  of these injuries is significant.

Is there a way to protect from these injuries ?  What is the best way to prevent these injuries?

Is it a community problem or do we leave it up to the  individual?

This lecture will focus the on the role of saliva in oral health, including its components, functions and secretion.

An approach to the aetiology and assessment of salivary hypo-function will be presented, as well as the role of the dental hygienist/therapist in the management of this condition.

Contemporary Space Management – Dealing with Spaces in Orthodontics – Dr Mike Razza   |   Orthodontist

This is a discussion of common treatment goals for orthodontists and restorative dentists when dealing with missing teeth.

The presentation will show cases where space closure or other alternative treatment plans may be considered.

This is a look at case studies and research to present alternatives for handling orthodontic cases with spacing issues.

A view into what research is moving toward in auto transplantation and why auto transplantation may be considered rather than implant placement.

The discussion will include information to enhance the dental aesthetic and functional out comes for patients.
