Key Note Speaker – Dr Geoffrey Knight

The management of caries in deciduous teeth using AgF and new dentine bonding technology.

Atraumatic Restorative Treatment  –  Applying operational  Minimal intervention Dentistry in the first world.

The use of dental medicaments to eliminate caries and periodontal disease in adult patients, – can this be applied to the juvenile patient?

Geoff Knight (BDSc MSc MBA PhD) is a general dentist and internationally noted dental speaker with special interests in Minimal Intervention Aesthetic Dentistry.

He has pioneered a number of innovative clinical procedures in aesthetic dentistry and the pharmacological management of caries and is named on several patents.
Goeff has been published in Quintessence International, Australian Dental Journal and Journal of Periodontal Research. He has produced a series of clinical technique videos and written over 100 articles on aesthetic and adhesive dentistry many of which have been translated into a number of languages and published internationally.

Initial treatment of periodontitis once completed, requires ongoing maintenance and management to ensure success.

Dr Zahida Oakley gained her dental qualifications at the University of Sheffield in the UK and gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

She completed the Doctorate in Clinical Dentistry in Periodontics at the University of Western Australia. She has continually been involved in the teaching of undergraduate dental students at UWA and is committed to continuing education.

This presentation will outline white lesions that occur in the oral cavity and discuss in detail the common pathologies. Importantly when to watch or refer will be discuss to better aid the dental auxiliary in comprehensive patient management.

An update on Molar Hypomineralisation and its treatment.

Premature exfoliation of primary teeth – an important indicator of underlying systemic conditions.

Rebecca is a Specialist Paediatric Dentist who practices full time at Bicton Paediatric Dentistry.  She completed her Bachelor of Dental Science degree at the University of Western Australia and her postgraduate degree, a Doctorate of Clinical Dentistry in Paediatric Dentistry, at the University of Melbourne.  

 

J-Hodgson

Diet, lifestyle and blood pressure – Dr Jonathon Hodgson  |    Research Professor  UWA

Jonathan Hodgson is a National Health and Medical Research Council of Australia Senior Research Fellow. He is a Research Professor currently working at the University of Western Australia within the School of Medicine and Pharmacology located at Royal Perth Hospital.

His research focuses on the role of diet in cardiovascular disease prevention. The presentation will outline those dietary and lifestyle factors that are proven to provide benefit on blood pressure. He will also describe some of his own research exploring the components of fruits and vegetables that might contribute to their benefits on blood pressure.
