Medicine for Dentistry 

This two hour presentation will cover medical fitness for dental procedures, cardiovascular medicine, infectious disease and some neurology.  Systemic diseases which impact dentistry, Infection and the mouth, psychosocial medicine and pharmacology in Dentistry will also be discussed.

Professor Dimmitt is the Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia and author of the highly successful publication “Medicine for Dentists”. He is Consultant Physician, Cardiologist and Stroke Physician at SJOG, Mount, Bethesda and South Perth Hospitals and Chair of the Human ResearchEthic Committee.

Dr Peter V Ricciardo

BSc, BDSc, MBBS, FRACDS(OMS)

Peter Ricciardo is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He achieved his dental qualification at the University of Western Australia, medical qualification at the University of Queensland, and advanced surgical training (resulting in specialty fellowship) in the state of Western Australia.

Peter subsequently gained post-graduate fellowship training in Paediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne), Orthognathic and Trauma Surgery (Royal Melbourne Hospital, Melbourne), Temporomandibular Joint Surgery (St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne), and Head and Neck Surgery (Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow).

Peter has published in international masthead journals. He is a member of the Western Australian Regional Surgical Committee and an instructor with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. Peter is a consultant surgeon at Royal Perth Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, and West Perth Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

A Certificate of Attendance will be issued at  the completion of each seminar.  In most cases this will be emailed
