Mark has a particular interest in paediatric dentistry and has been a Consultant Dentist at Princess Margaret Hospital for Children since 1990.
He is a senior clinical lecturer at the University of Western Australia School of Dentistry were he is involved in teaching of the third and forth year dental students. He is also an examiner for the Australian Dental Council in paediatric dentistry.
Mark has lectured extensively on dental trauma and sports dentistry and is the dental consultant to Sports Medicine W.A., the Western Force rugby team and other sporting organisations. Mark was awarded a Fellowship from the International College of Dentists in 2007 for his services to dentistry.
He treats children with complex dental problems, behavioural issues and both children and adults with physical or mental disabilities referred from the School Dental Service and other private dental and medical practices.

Tim’s current interest is in feeding issues in neonates and his new practice has recently been described as a national referral centre for LASER assisted treatment. The relief of the labial and lingual frenums by use of the LASER has enabled many distraught nursing mothers to continue breast feeding their child.
Tim graduated with his BDSc from the University of Western Australia in 1989 and completed his Masters Degree in Paediatric Dentistry from the University of Melbourne.
Tim holds appointments as Consultant Paediatric Dentist at The Princess Margaret Hospital for Children, visiting senior lecturer at The University of Western Australia. He has held advisory positions within the Australian Dental Association, Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons and remains the Dental advisor to the Australian Breastfeeding Association. Tim was awarded a Fellow of the Academy of Dentistry International in recognition of his voluntary work overseas. He is presently Federal Vice President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Paediatric Dentistry.
Tim has a strong interest in dental lasers and minimal intervention dentistry and their use in paediatric dentistry. He has lectured nationally and internationally and contributed to textbooks on this subject.
Medicine for Dentistry – Professor Simon Dimmitt | Clinical Professor of Medicine
This two hour presentation will cover medical fitness for dental procedures, cardiovascular medicine, infectious disease and some neurology.
Professor Dimmitt is the Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Western Australia and author of the highly successful publication “Medicine for Dentists”.
